Learn About Me

I’m not a sommelier in a white coat. I’m your easygoing wine guide who believes in curated experiences that are approachable, inclusive, and full of heart. Whether I’m hosting a tasting in someone’s kitchen or elevating the vibe of a retreat space, my goal is always the same: to help you relax, enjoy, and feel like the evening just magically came together.

About Tasty Wandering's Founder

Hello!
I'm Jill, your host, certified sommelier, world traveler, and the hands and heart behind Tasty Wandering.

Over the years, I’ve explored flavors across 17 countries, from sipping Carmenère with family in Chilean wine cellars to learning the secret to mouthwatering baba ganoush in a Jordanian kitchen. I’ve lived abroad in South America and the Middle East, always following my curiosity about how food, wine, and people come together to create unforgettable moments. Those memories highlighting different cultures and family traditions are what inspire everything I do.

Back home in the US, I founded a wine and food tour company that quickly became a local favorite, earning top TripAdvisor rankings and features in Edible East Bay and Visit Tri-Valley. That experience taught me that people don’t just want good food and wine—they want connection, discovery, and something worth savoring.

From wine cellars in Chile to camel treks in Jordan, my love of travel fuels everything I bring to the table, including the wines I choose and the stories behind them.

I’m so excited to bring that same energy into your home or business. Whether it’s a girls’ night in, a team-building activity, or a relaxed retreat gathering, I provide the wine, the bites, the setup—and most importantly, a warm, engaging experience you and your guests won’t forget.

Certified through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (Level 3 Wine) and the Wine Scholar Guild, I’m always expanding my knowledge—and love sharing it in a way that’s easy to understand and enjoy. From Eritrean stews to Vietnamese street food, Filipino desserts to Peruvian ceviche, my passion for global cuisine runs deep. I especially love creating pairings that bring out the best in both the food and the wine.

Whether you're new to wine or a seasoned sipper, I believe great pairings should be fun, welcoming, and never intimidating. My goal is to make it approachable and deliver an experience that’s thoughtful, memorable, and full of flavor.

Possibly one of the best wine tasting experiences I’ve ever had.

I recently attended a wine pairing/tasting event with Jill. It was an absolute blast and possibly one of the best wine tasting experiences I have ever had the pleasure of attending. Jill’s knowledge and history of the wines is top notch and her enthusiasm for educating us was infectious. I have attended previous wine pairings and they can be stuffy and somewhat elitist; Jill has such a warm, effusive manner about her that you feel welcome in her presence. If you are looking to host an event, be it a girls night in or a couples event, I highly encourage you to reach out to Jill at Tasty Wandering.

This is a fun way to host a party and not have to deal with the planning or mess.

Jill did a great job at a recent pairing I went to. She is so knowledgeable and approachable. I had so much fun and learned a lot. This is a fun way to host a party and not have to deal with the planning or mess. I’m already planning a new event for the beginning of next month.

FAQs

Find answers to your questions about our wine experiences, bookings, and event details here.

What makes you different?

I’m not just pouring wine. I’m creating connection with a thoughtfully hosted experience. With global flavors, fun and approachable wine education and relaxed personal touch, it’s elevated, easy to host and far from your average happy hour or traditional tasting room.

What’s included in a typical event?

Every event includes thoughtfully chosen wines (or mocktails), chef-inspired pairings or small bites, printed tasting cards, setup and cleanup, and a guided tasting experience. You bring the people—I’ll bring everything else.

Do I need to know anything about wine to book a tasting?

Not at all! These experiences are for everyone—from curious beginners to seasoned sippers. I guide you through each wine in a way that’s fun, relaxed, and never intimidating.

Can you help me choose the right event for my group?

Yes! That’s exactly what the discovery call is for. I’ll help you choose the right format and flow based on your goals, guests, and budget.

Do I have to host it in my home?

Nope! I can host events in offices, vacation rentals, boutique spaces, back patios and more. We’ll find the setting that works best for your group.

How far in advance should I book?

2–3 weeks is ideal, but don’t be afraid to reach out last-minute. If I have room in my calendar, I’ll make it work!

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on guest count, menu style, and wine selection. Most events start at $50 per person. I’ll send you a custom quote after a quick discovery call.

Do you require payment up front?

Once we have a date confirmed, a $100 deposit is required to hold the date. The rest of the invoice must be paid 72 hours prior to the event. Thanks!

Can I book online?

Yes you can. Visit the contact page to select your preferred date. I’ll follow up with you to get more information and make your event official.

Do you travel outside Colorado Springs?

Yes! I’m happy to travel within the Pikes Peak region or beyond. A small travel fee may apply depending on location, and we’ll cover it during our discovery call.

Can this be customized for birthdays, bachelorettes, or other celebrations?

We love celebrations! Whether it’s a milestone birthday, girls’ night, or bridal toast, I’ll shape the wine and food around your celebration and make it extra special.

Is this good for team-building or corporate events?

Definitely! These experiences are a great way to connect outside the office. Perfect for a team reward, client appreciation, or leadership retreat. I’ll tailor the tone to suit your goals—whether it’s laid-back bonding or a more structured tasting.

What kinds of groups do you work with?

I serve all kinds—girls’ nights, book clubs, business owners, wellness retreats, neighborhood socials, and more. If you want a unique, memorable experience that sparks connection, we’re a good match.

Can this be paired with another activity like yoga or a workshop?

I love collaborating with other local professionals! Whether it’s yoga, charcuterie boards, boutique shopping, crafting, or mindset coaching… the possibilities are endless. Let’s co-host something memorable.

How long does a typical tasting last?

Most events run between 90 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the format and group size. Just enough time to sip, savor, and connect!

Can you accommodate dietary needs?

Absolutely! One of my specialties is offering gluten-free options. And I’m happy to adjust menu based on your group’s preferences or allergies. Just let me know in advance.

Do you offer non-alcoholic options?

I offer mocktail experiences that are just as fun and flavorful—and still include tasting cards, pairings, and a guided experience.

Will my guests be expected to buy wine or products at event?

Never. There’s no sales pitch and no pressure to buy. This is all about creating a moment to enjoy, connect, and savor—stress-free.

Do you offer gift certificates?

What a lovely idea! A Tasty Wandering experience makes a unique and meaningful gift for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries—or just because. Reach out and I’ll create a custom gift certificate.
